Does anyone bike to work?

I know typically the most efficient way to get to the office is to drive or take the subway, but I was thinking what if instead I biked to the office? My office is downtown, and I'm based in Midtown east. Daily commute time may vary.
Does anyone else ride a bicycle to work?

I would just have to wake up earlier every morning so I could bike to work. Instead of waking up at 8:30 to get to the office at 9:30, I'd just wake up around 7 or 7:30 instead

Biking to work is cool if you can dress casual and ride in jeans and a polo or something. If you have to wear a suit and tie, it's a no-go.

I bike home from work frequently. It's free thanks to Lyft Pink All Access in my city, and is actually is faster/more direct (<10 min bike vs 15-20 mins public transportation). I'm not biking below 25°F though.

Bought an ebike and bike to work every day. Saves ~15min on the commute (10min bike ride vs. 25min door-to-door subway). Granted it's a nice bike ride halfway through the park, I wouldn't do FiDi to Midtown on a bike.

10/10 would recommend though. Sucks in the winter and agreed on not biking below 30F.

I bike to work everyday - but also I just moved to Amsterdam so of course there are a plethora of well-designed bike lanes. I used to work in Baltimore and biked to work as well. I prefer biking over public transit because it's nice to be doing mindless exercise while outside since we're stuck indoors this time of year.

Of course you will have to face the rainy, cold weather but as long as you wear a hat, gloves, scarf you will warm up quickly. Also I'd recommend investing in a pair of rain pants to wear over your regular pants when biking to the office.

I would say that each person's commuting route is going to be a bit different, but in many cases (like my case), biking can actually be the fastest and most efficient route to/from the office. I live on the west side and commute to Midtown which requires me to use 2 different subway lines and about 7 extra minutes of walking. Alternatively, I could take a ~25 min Uber/Taxi, which is usually overpriced ($25-$35 one way) although taxis are better. The total distance to my office is only like ~2.5 miles, but with subway transfers and extra walking it takes wayyyyyyy more time than if I were to just hop on a quick Citibike E-bike and get to the office in ~10 mins. Also, you should always use the E-bikes unless you plan on showering and changing once u get to the office.

The only thing is that weather can obviously be the biggest obstacle (especially on days with heavy precipitation), but more times than not, a thick coat and gloves will help u withstand the windy cold winters. Like you mentioned, it is also a great way to unwind and get a good start/finish to ur workday and capture good views in the city. From downtown to midtown east seems a bit rough of a distance though, might be best to just use the 4/5 express to GC if nearby.
