How are you guys planning your accommodation for next year?

My lease is up this month but I have no clarity about when we are going back into the office and I also don't have a car. Torn if I should just move to the suburbs for a year or try to get a place closer to work, so I don't need to take the subway whenever we reopen.

Wondering how others on this forum are thinking?

P.S. I am currently in UES NYC, need to take 25 min subway to work

Lease is up next month and I think we’re gonna look for another place in the city. Idk how old you are but I’m 25 so not trying to move to the suburbs yet and have a few more years of city living left in me. Don’t have a car either so there’s that too.

What I have seen though is pricing discounts near NYU since they’re remote for the fall, IIRC.

Yeah I missed the part about the subway. Is your firm going to WFH should a second wave happen? I'd bet you'd know that now based on how they've handled it and my firm personally would have us WFH until the governor or someone says it's safe for all to be in an office. If your firm is the same way, then a place in Hoboken, Jersey City, or Union City might not be a bad play. Although not sure how "suburban" you're willing to go.
