Industry, the HBO Shoz

How do you do fellow monkeys, started recently watching the HBO show Industry, saw a clip a few weeks ago and thought it was total cringe, but after some weeks I told myself "why not give it a watch, let's see the first episode". And after watching it I gotta say I was honestly surprised, since it was not as bad as I thought it would be, and I wanted to watch a few more when i would find time to. After this week i watched almost all the first season episodes (about 6 out of 8) and probably will leave it here.

The show was of course not accurate, but rather like SUITS, amusing while it shows some things that really happen in IB; first episodes one of the analyst drops dead, that honestly got me into the show, the RIF thing also gives  dynamism to the thing, and them playing kind-off politics with the MDs and trying to snatch clients was interesting. The main characters, i could care less, these romantic or sexual tension some have between them at first, you just don't really care, it serves as showing they are more than analysts yet, but there's really no substance there.

Now, after a few episodes, that's when it starts getting shitty, the whole show turns into Euphoria (i suppose, have not watched it), and 80-90% of the episodes are about them (supposedly EB analysts), taking more drugs than the crackheads on the street combined, now guess what? Everybody takes drugs, the client, the boyfriend, the Associate, hell even the MD is into fcking heroin lmaooo. And then, when they are not shooting some powder, doing weed, K or whatever nasty-ass drug they magically have, the episode is about fucking, about one of the characters now wanting to fck a stranger, trying to fck one of the bank analysts or associate, or some sex games between them. That i don't really care, don't show it too much, because the characters are poor made any don't have substance, so their sexual and romantic lives aren't really interesting.

But, for whatever reason, the director wants us to see the whole thing, literally 1-2 minutes scenes of them fcking and doing all that, literally like a fcking porno, why tf would we want to see porn scenes on every episode of a HBO show wtf...

After all this rant imma say it's sad, bc they had a lot of substance and room to play with, the clients, the RIF, the politics with the VPs and MDs, against other analysts to compete for the RIF, the Toxic culture and the analyst's death too... Idk, seems like wasted potential to me, they could've done more like SUITS and less Euphoria or DeepThroat inspired scenes and it would have been a really decent show, especially since i didn't think there could be an interesting show about Banking.

Yeah i noticed that, I decided to keep watching a few more even though I wasn't really following the plot or really watching them, but I noticed the huge quality change, when in the S2 E6 or E7 i think, get this. In the whole episode, i repeat, the whole, NO ONE DOES DRUGS!! Yayyy, and only there's one lesbian porno scene!!! Huge achievement for them, since it looked like the show was about a bunch of horny junkies, that happen to do finance.

Okay I just finished S2. This has gotten fcking amazing, what an ending episode and what an ending season plot. God damn what did they do with the writers and execs? I can't believe is the same show i was watching 4 fcking episodes before. Regarding the last 2 episodes, they did a great fcking job, considering they built one of the worst set-ups, characters and plot (which is no plot basically), of all the show biz. Now all of a sudden, close to no one takes drugs and fuck in every scene. The actors, they are still a big shit (except Eric and sum other one probs), hence why I say they did such a great job.

Do you know if something happened? There's clearly gotta be a reason for the show going to only sex & cocaine to being actually a good show in just the last 2 episodes.

Got news for you mi monkey friend, Season 2 last 2-3 episodes (it's actually the last 2, but say the 3 in case u need a lil bit of context). Watch these ones and see if you like it. It gets to being a decent and interesting show there, actual plot, and actual characters doing something.
