This sounds super broad. What are you trying to finance? Commodity pricing and demand (foreign and domestic, plus access to transportation [barges, etc.]), weather, zoning, I would imagine all kinds of things have to be considered.

So working capital to ag firms? I guess that would be it. Idk enough about the industry but quality of AR, commercial contracts and buyers of products, that sort of thing I would imagine.

A couple months ago, I also saw a prospectus from the guys who founded Fundrise that seemed to invest in agricultural land, could be worth looking into. I’m not really sure how institutional investors own land like that, I’m not aware of any REITs in that space.

I'm literally looking into starting a role in lending for ag and food. I guess working capital loans

are something to look at.

I'm looking at commercial bank lending ops in ag and food. It seems interesting enough and wanted other peoples takes on what they enjoy about the job. But, I also want to do some light research on the important things to look at from an insider's perspective.

oh that does sound pretty interesting actually, would be cool to learn more about that, I just clearly don't know anything about it.

What is the purpose of the research? Lending as in bonds associated with these industries?  I think you need to be more specific about what you are trying to accomplish here.

I wanted to do some research on Ag and Food lending to see if its something nice to do in the long run. Outside of googling Ag and food lending I thought there might be some key points to consider.
