you can get some decent places in zone 2 next to the jubilee/victoria/bakerloo line to green park with 250/week. Look on the tube map and search for apartments near those lines

Pretty much everything in zone 1 will be 30 minutes away from Green Park tube station, even if it means changing lines. Clearly prices for 1 bed/studio flats vary even within areas but as a general guide here are some suggestions:

North London: Areas such as King's Cross or Euston are nice and located on the Victoria line which takes you straight to Green Park. Paddington, Baker Street and Maida Vale are also nice areas with the latter being slightly north and requiring a tube change in the morning

East London: The new 'hipster' area as some may see it but a nice place to live. Areas such as Old Street or Angel have great bars/restaurants, a fun young vibe and great access to tube and bus networks

South London: Here you have two different sides. You have below-the-river-south which includes areas such as Southwark, Waterloo or Vauxhall and above-the-river-south with areas such as Pimlico. All pretty central and not far from both Mayfair and the buzz of Piccadilly.

West London: This is the quieter residential area with places such as Chelsea, Earl's Court or (venturing further out into zone 2 but still incredibly nice places) Baron's Court and Hammersmith. If you're pulling 15+ hour days and will have time to live for 1 day only on the weekend this may be a nice option as its a green area, well connected to Green Park and have a very vibrant community of local cafes, restaurants and bars. Populated by slightly older people I wouldn't suggest spending 1-2 years here alone in your early 20s but for a summer internship who cares

Hope this helps!
