I'll be writing in again for POTUS, can't get behind either one of them. likely voting red for US senate, probably some blue for some of the state positions (in the south, the democrats are pretty mild, haven't seen too many lefties).

I would guess the WSO demographic is close to 50/50, much like the rest of the country. in years past it definitely leaned harder right when obama was in the picture, but trump is gross enough to tip the scales and biden isn't offensive enough to wall street like warren or bernie to increase trump's support amongst this forum. my $0.02

Why would you want Warren specifically? Are you more progressive or do you not like some of the others being considered?

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

I'm progressive in the sense that I support M4A and am socially progressive as well.

I also like Warren's approach with the filibuster and bankruptcy.

Besides that, I support Trump due to things like tax cuts (not particularly for me, but for companies), pulling out of war in the Middle East, net energy positivity, etc.

I posted a comment in another thread about this so I'll just paste my answer here:

"I'm going with Biden because, although he isn't as sharp as he once was, he's still very much brighter and more responsible than Trump. In addition, I would count on Biden to surround himself with smart cabinet members and advisers rather than a crack team of yes-men. While I do not agree with everything on his platform, I agree with his stance on things like climate, transportation, immigration, and healthcare.

As an aside, one area where I think Trump has really failed is foreign relations. He touts himself as being tough on China, then draws out of the TPP and launches a failing trade war. He gets laughed out of G7 and NATO meetings, and he clearly lacks the respect of first world leaders. I think with a Biden presidency the United States will go back to being leader of the free world and the country will have a more positive global influence."

I'll also add that I hope a Biden victory would cause both the GOP and the Democratic party to change course. Hopefully, it would show leftist types that pragmatism and liberal ideals are more palatable to Americans than left wing demagoguery. It would be nice for people like Sanders and the Squad to fade back into obscurity. In addition, a Biden victory coupled with Democratic gains in Congress and statewide races would hopefully make Republicans go back to believing in free markets and fiscal responsibility, while hopefully also seeking to reduce inequality (racial and social, not like wealth redistribution or anything stupid like that). As a registered Republican, I really wish for the party to go back to being neoliberal.

Agreed with most of this but want to point something out. Sanders and the Squad represent the 10% left-most Americans who want Medicare for All, $15 minimum wage, tax the rich, Green New Deal, stop ICE deportations of people who immigrated illegally (who on average have lived here for 10 years, pay taxes, and have overstayed visas, not crossed the border). Fox News and other conservative media eat this up and spit it out every day to convince moderates to vote Republican.

On the other hand, nobody talks about the 10% right-most Americans who are literally anti-Muslim, oppose same sex marriage, want to ban and criminalize abortion, think minorities are inferior to whites, dislike interracial marriage, and believe atheists worship Satan. If you don't believe me, I'm willing to bet you have lived in urban areas or the suburbs your entire life. It's harder for the liberal media to focus on them because they're spread out across rural America rather than clustered in SF and LA. Also, the more conservative politicians will give their right-leaning constituents pieces of this but will act politically correct and not openly say it.

While I don't agree with the Sanders/Dem. Squad and think of myself as more moderate than the first group, I'm sure as hell not voting with the second group. I agree though that I want AOC to fade away and the Democratic party to take a firm stance on border security like they did under Obama because as it stands, Fox News and Trump can use it to portray Democrats as extreme leftists.

Disclosure: voted Dem my whole life. I have news for you that those are not the 10% left-most Americans. The left-most Americans are ACAB, Antifa, Chapo Trap House, full communist, guillotine-for-Jeff-Bezos, reparations for slaves, write-in-Bernie accelerationists, etc. These are the folks who claim all Republicans are fascist and use "liberal" and "neoliberal" as if they were a slur.

That being said, I would never vote for or against a party based on the character of their extremist adherents, especially in a two-party system where people have to fall in line under one bucket or another.

"Nobody talks about the 10% right-most Americans" - your description that you gave is how almost all Republicans are portrayed on social media, aka the lens through which the under-35 demographic views the world. Not sure why you mix up basic religious tenets (like anti-abortion and believing Atheists are going to hell) with racism, as if those views are even related with one another -- more bad news for you on women's and religious rights regarding choose-your-own-theocratic-country.
