Would you accept a sh*tty job at a good bank?
I’m currently a second year university student having troubles finding good summer work in finance. I was offered an interview for an “administrative position” at a BB in Canada (that’s where I live), which is basically doing all the b*tch work. Literally in the job description one of the tasks mentioned is “cleaning microwave and fridges”. I have other labour work lined up for the summer, but was really hoping to get in a big bank such as this. Would you guys be willing to interview/accept the job given the current position I am in?
Well, if it is the only offer it is better than nothing. But, getting in somewhere without pay could be another option.
Yeah I have thought about that too.. I have recently been sending out my resume to very small shops in hope for unpaid internship. I could probably make more money and enjoy my job more at the labour place.. I just don't know if its worth it, just to have something that looks good on the resume
Well, what is on your resume is very crucial for opening up doors in the future. I guess you could potentially network at the office you are doing the admin work at. However, I am not aware of anyone doing that approach.
