CB: Credit Risk Analysis summer internship or nothing
I'm a first year internatonal undegrad in a 3 years degree at a target university of a particular country whose language I don't know. After a semester of coldcalling, I failed to secure proper M&A or consulting internships, due to mainly two reasons: 1) I'm a freshman, 2) I don't know the language. I applied to a credit risk analyst internship back home at a large local corporate bank and still have my final round next week, but if all goes well I will be getting it. One thing to question is whether with my IB aspirations for my 2nd year summer internship (I'll def apply to London this time), I won't be doing harm with this corporate banking + number crunching position. Maybe anybody has some advice on what I should especially focus on doing and learning if I decide to do it and how to make it sound more relevant than packing groceries all summer?
