Seattle vs Silicon Valley
I was browsing through articles and I stumbled upon "How America’s two tech hubs are converging". The article states that Seattle and Silicon Valley are complements because the former produces large products, such as airplanes, and the latter develops smaller items, such as phones. In addition, Seattle and Silicon Valley are also different because Silicon Valley has more startups, while Seattle has more established companies. The article also states that Venture Capitalists are predominantly located in California to invest in startups, but occasionally they do go up north and invest in several startups in Seattle. The article concludes that Seattle and Silicon Valley are different, but they tie in with each other, especially as many Silicon Valley firms use Amazon for cloud computing.
All in all, this article is a good read, and I think that both of these cities are, on the whole, complements. Do you think that Seattle and Silicon Valley are complements? Any thoughts regarding these two areas are appreciated.
