Computer Program Skills as an Undergrad Student

Hi everyone,

I am an undergrad student looking to get into private equity after I graduate. Being an economics major I constantly hear of people getting familiar with Python, R, and Excel programs. I am doing workshops in Excel because I know that modelling is a major part of entry level jobs in PE, but I am also curious to how important R and Python programs are. I am not so familiar with them so I am wondering if I should become more knowledgable in these programs. Obviously, the more the merrier, but is it worth my time with the level of data analysis in PE?

Thanks in advance!
