Finally leaving Canada for the U.S.
Took a few years but my company is finally transferring me from my god forsaken country of Canada (Toronto) to California. I feel like life is going to improve dramatically. Ps: Canada sucks

I’m Canadian and I can confidently say that since the pandemic our healthcare is complete shit….
Also, it’s not free… we pay for it through much higher taxes than the US (including California) as adjusted for our income tax brackets and notional tax rates.
You will not be able to get a doctor through the public system in Canada. That ship has sailed.
You will need to either: wait 10+ hours at the ER or pay for a private shop/clinic doctor which defeats the purpose of the high taxes in Canada.
I keep hearing on social media how people want to move to Canada, not vice versa...
If you work in finance, there’s not a single job in Canada that pays as much as it’s US equivalent.
