Getting Pushed Out < 1 Year Into the Role
Title says it all. I got blindsided in a "performance review" less than a year in and was asked to look for other opps. Know I wasn't perfect, but that there was no proper onboarding or culture or training don't know what to do now...
Look at other threads on the topic - it does happen. And you’ll find some good suggestions on there.
what would you like to do next and long term? Give that detail and I’m sure people here can be more helpful.
Sorry to hear that - did they point to specifics? Work ethic, attention to detail, technicals, etc?
It sounds like they're giving you some time to transition out, which is nice. I would take a beat, and not hit the ground running immediately for recruiting for a new job (to the extent you have that time). Take some serious self-reflection and speak with other folks at the firm to figure out where things went wrong.

Maybe this PE fund wasn't for you, find out why, learn and grow, and move on.
More common than you would think. Try to get as much feedback as possible, see what issues you made and reflect. Not a big issue, especially when you are young. This is a very good job market.
In the past day alone and looking at other threads (thanks to VP above) realizing how common this can be in the industry. Already had 6 calls in one day and lining up 12 more this week. Calls for feedback internally and touching base with network externally.
Thanks for the upbeat answer!
