HBS 2+2 on Resume for PE On-Cycle?
Incoming first year at a BB in NYC in a top group, gearing up for On-Cycle PE recruiting and was wondering if I should put my HBS deferred 2+2 acceptance on my resume?
I don't want firms to not hire me because they think I am going to leave in 2 years, but I also went to a non/semi target school and have a somewhat lower GPA (3.6) and having HBS on my resume would definitely help me in terms of prestige/reputation.
Any thoughts?
dang, i had a 3.9 from an ivy and 2+2 rejected me :(...wonder what it takes nowadays!
are you at a very strong group?
I think we all know the answer.
LOL
Based response. Let's not dance around the obvious
Don't get discouraged, 2+2 is meant for STEM students or people with untraditional backgrounds. For me, although I'm going into IB, I had 2 successful startups and multi-million valuation exits and I understood my story very well (wants to do entrepreneurship long-term but in the short-term wants to gain a better network and skills). I also was a CS minor so maybe that helped.
I also was president of 3 clubs on campus (1 finance and 2 community service) and was on the volunteer board of an international NGO. I wanted to share because plenty of people get into HBS and GSB without these stats after their IB -> PE track. You got this!
Im curious do they verify or ask references for your extracurriculars? apart from a reference
do MBAs admissions know the difference between different places?
I don't know for example, how different is a candidate from MOE LA vs Gugg NY assuming all else equal?
MBA admission definitely knows the difference between firms. That being said, Moelis LA vs Moelis NY in the banking world is known to be different as Moelis LA is the better place to be but MBA admissions may not understand that. But the difference between EB's and BB's is definitely understood, with slight preference to BB's (GS TMT > PJT RSSG).
Dude I really don’t know if they know the difference. The amount of Accenture and KPMG people I’ve seen at HBS/GBS is crazy
Also curious about having it on resume
