Is this PE?
I am looking at a "special assets" group that largely acquires non-performing loans.
What would an Associate do in such a group?
Will it be largely database mining or actually dealing with companies, models, and working to turn them around?
Is this comparable to a special situations, or distressed debt group? That is, do they mostly acquire non-performing loans?
What comp ranges should be expected and what kind of exit ops exist? I feel like they would be limited as this is fairly niche.
Thanks
if it acquires only loans i think its not classified as PE, seems more like asset management or special situations group.
Yes, it is like a special situations group. But what role do they play in the investment process?
Also, on comp, i know the fee structure is not like a 2/20 so what else would it be?
