Lateral moves in PE Portfolio Ops

Recently took a VP level Portfolio Ops / Value creation role at an UMM/MF. Think work content is fine for now but comp is probably 15-20% below market for this role (Total comp in $305-$335K range) and definitely at least 10% below what I can make in industry right now.

What’s the best strategy to lateral to portfolio Ops / value creation teams at other firms? I have decent credentials (MBB, Top-3 grad/professional degree, etc.) but honestly don’t know a ton about PE as an industry and didn’t go to B-school so don’t have a ton of PE contacts at other firms.
