Picking up the TECHNICALS

I’ve been hovering around many topics/stories about breaking into private equity from undergrad. Really interested in the buy side and was wondering how much experience one can get from starting off in a sourcing/ deal origination role? What are the chances of moving to the executive team at the fund? I have a bit of experience in the M&A and private debt from past internships.

Any thoughts or stories about others breaking into private equity (growth, vc or leveraged buyout funds) and how much experience was gained?
