Recruiting for UMM/MF PE from H/S MBA without Pre-MBA IB or PE experience

Is anyone aware of candidates having luck in recruiting for UMM or MF PE roles (likely as an entry-level associate) from H/S MBA without Pre-MBA experience in IB/Consulting/PE? I have an older sibling who's enrolling at one of the schools mentioned this fall and is interested in this path. Their experience up until this point has been in non-IB / non-investing related corp finance. Unfortunately, I don't have great advice as I haven't really seen this happen but I figured I'd open it up to a broader audience to see if anyone had any recent anecdotes.

Thanks - will look into it. I assume you are talking about Vista. It just seems like a unique situation coming out of the H/S MBA programs as it seems that few non-Pre-MBA MBB/IB/PE candidates pivot to IB after business school at those two schools vs. a relatively large cohort that does so at the rest of the M7. So my assumption is that they're either shooting for direct investing roles straight out of school or going down a completely different path (start-ups, corp dev., etc). I also fully recognize how tough Post-MBA PE recruiting is, especially for UMM/MF funds, so it's not all that surprising that very few people make it without pre-MBA experience.

I'm assuming the best option would be to try to land an LMM/MM role (which will still likely be competitive / a crapshoot) and then *try* to move upmarket from there if you desire to do so?
