Clearlake and Genstar raised $7B funds recently (a bit smaller than the range you outlined) but both have been crushing it with respect to recent performance. Same with Veritas ($6.5B) although I have heard working there is pretty brutal. Have generally heard good things about American Securities ($7B fund) although they had a really bad recent fund (historical performance overall has been solid though). Unfortunately can't speak much to culture but Francisco and New Mountain probably also meet criteria b and c.

Completely agree on New Mountain, that's the one that jumped to mind here for me. Would also agree with everything said on AmSec, hopefully performance gets back to normal as they've been historically very smart investors with good culture for a long time.

Would maybe question the Clearlake and Francisco culture elements... performance is strong but they drive teams hard from what I know. Only have one first-hand account for both, but anecdotally have heard this about Francisco especially.
