Any Florida Folks Know About Barndominiums? Share Your Insights, Please!

Hello fellow forum members, hope you're doing good.

I'm currently exploring unique housing options in Florida and came across the concept of barndominiums. I find the idea of combining a barn-like structure with a residential living space quite fascinating. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience or knowledge about barndominiums specifically in Florida? I'm curious to know about the availability of barndominiums in different regions of Florida, the pros and cons of living in one, and any legal considerations or building regulations that may come into play. Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your valuable input.

I grew up on a farm during my childhood and some of our building were converted barns.
- The garages were ex horse stables within a barn (13x spaces and one for cleaning/repair)
- The apartment I was in was a former hay barn /w a converted loft, some machinery left behind inside

It is one of the coolest way of living, although most farms are quite far away from any other residence or town (which is a plus IMO).

Most farms I have been require all residents to drive wherever they need to go (which isn't a problem in itself, but not feasible for some tenants)
Public services are often not available or with severe delays (we needed an ambulance once for one of the families and it took hours for them to arrive)
