I’m considering a development role at Brookfield Properties Retail (formerly GGP). Sounds mostly like mall redevelopment. Any inside word on the environment or reputation here? They are full time back in the office which gives me some pause. Thanks in advance!

Brookfield retail, while a major loss on the balance sheet in prior years, has been one segment of the their market where they are bullish on. Currently seeing an 18%-20% cash on cash yields from purchase price for properties that they purchase at a discount to replacement costs. Many of these newer properties in their portfolio can be sold to double what they purchased them for.
My best guess is that if the above was worth mentioning in their annual statement, the group probably has some good visibility within the group.
