Career Advice: From Property Management to Asset Management/Acquisitions/REPE

I've been looking for REPE/Asset Management/Acquisitions positions for several months, had several interviews and no offers yet. I did my finance undergrad from one of the top tier business programs in Toronto. Then I worked in multi-family property management for 3 years straight out of undergrad to gain experience in the industry, but I'm currently stuck in PM. I've always wanted to work in asset management, but there's no opportunity in current. company. Just would like to ask for some suggestions on how I should leverage my experience to get asset management jobs? Also what are the chances for AM/Acquisitions positions in the US coming from a Canadian PM background?
