Eastdil Atlanta

Any one have insight on Eastdil's Atlanta office. Trying to get a sense of comp and hours at the associate level. On par with the NYC office? (i.e. 80 hour weeks) Is base pay the same across all offices? Target bonus of 100% (obviously depending on the year)?

A lean team that let some people go recently. It's Eastdil so it's a grind, but not as sweaty as NYC or SF but still. They mainly cover the SE.

I like the OM's they send us    :)

Atlanta goes hard. Pretty consistently in office later than most NYC counterparts given typical deal profiles (lots of retail, large industrial portfolios, etc.).

As associate, hours and comp vary greatly by team. Will answer assuming economic environment is business as usual.

If you are on a demanding, high performance team with outsized deal volume, you can expect 70-90 hour weeks. Base salary is $125k across all offices. Can expect in excess of 120-175% bonus.

If you are on an average team with average deal flow, 60-75 hour weeks. Bonus probably ~100% of base.

Oh wow, why such a large difference between analysts and associate bonus percentages ? And if the associate pay is that high on an all in basis, there’s very few real estate shops out there on the principal side that can match that. Are people that willing to sacrifice comp to move to the principal side as I’ve seen people move from Eastdil to owner operators that pay around 150 all in at the associate level? If I’ve done 2 years at Eastdil and I’m coming up on a promotion for associate where I could be making 300k all in, why do some of those folks move to owner / operators or developers or lower paying REPE? If they go to Blackstone, Starwood, or any of the other large cap firms that can match Eastdil associate pay then it obvi makes sense. Otherwise, it’s def worth considering staying at Eastdil.

Replying to why jump from Eastdil to the principal side.  Getting points in the promote is a game changer.

You eventually hit a ceiling on salary but deal upside is endless if your team is IRR focused.
