Exiting from acquisitions/development -> real estate fintech/proptech startup?
Curious to see if anyone on this forum has made a career transition similar to this, know someone who has or has thought about making this transition. Currently considering this. Many "real estate analyst" job postings real estate tech companies on LinkedIn have 200+ applicants, so clearly they are receiving interest.
The CRE industry is warming up to utilizing fintech/proptech in many aspects of the business, so some of these companies could see tremendous growth. As an employee you would get equity, which could pay off big time.
On the other hand, it's certainly a riskier path- company could fail or take a long time to become successful. Also, transitioning from an owner to a service-oriented business (going from being the client to providing services to the client) seems like it has its challenges.
What are some potential pros and cons you guys see?
