Lending vs Asset Management Analyst

Which role do you think provides more optionality and better experience to a fresh grad? Analyst at a large bank doing balance sheet lending for all asset classes or asset management analyst at a highly respected owner/operator (top 5 in their niche asset class; healthcare)? Does being in healthcare pigeonhole you?

End goals would be working at a equity fund, debt fund, or acquisitions at an owner/operator.

I’ve spent a significant amount of time searching on this thread and think lending may be the better route, especially if it’s at a top 3 lender. Although I haven’t come across any thread directly comparing the two roles, which is why I wanted to ask.
