Career Resources
Acquisitions in a sourcing role or business development type gig holding the key to sponsor/operator relationships at a larger fund. Fund level Capital formation side whether internal for a fund or at a 3rd party also requires being extremely personable and selling a story.
Investor Relations/Fundraising always seemed pretty cushy so as the firm has a good track record
Lending, whether at a bank or debt fund
Asset management. You work within your group and outside stakeholders. Good pay and generally a more chill role than acquisitions.
Literally everything. Being personable and charismatic is a huge plus for any role, in any industry.
I think there's a misconception that Acquisitions is a significantly less salesy and personable role than brokerage, but honestly the jobs are very similar. The only acquisitions people that crunch numbers all day are analysts (similar to brokerage analysts) but once you are mid/senior level you spend a ton of time on the phone and networking and BSing with people about their golf game and favorite sports teams etc... This applies to most roles in RE too tbh.
