Reaching out to network for a job

So i work at a lender, and another baking group came in. They are a syndication team, I think that I would do better seller CRE syndications than as an RM. I'm a Sr. Assoc and they have a role on Linkedin for VP.  Would it be better to reach out to the Exec Dir, or the VP of the group to ask for a coffee? How would other users handle this?
