Research Cushman Wakefield

Just received an offer for a research analyst position at C&W for the (Office, Retail) team. Would you guys say this is a good place to start. I recently graduated with a BS in finance from a non target with a 3.4 GPA. unfortunately I’m unable to find an capital markets analyst gig anywhere at the moment. For those in research or that know of the field, how hard is it to move to An IS analyst role or Acquisitions?

Also, what is the salary like and what does the typically analyst due on the daily? For reference this is in NYC

Research is a fantastic place to start your career if you wish to move into leasing or capital markets brokerage. After 12-18 months you will know the market better than most brokers will. However, be careful not to pigeon hole yourself into it and start to be known as the “Research guy/girl”. Once that happens, you’ll know it’s time to leave. Low pay, long hours, under appreciation from the brokers, but again, great place to start. Also, be sure and learn financial modeling on the side so when you’re ready to make the move into brokerage you will have an added selling point to a capital markets team.
