Top Investment Sales Brokerage Exit Opps

Do guys at JLL/CBRE/CW/KF go on to mid/top PERE roles after a few years?

Looking at a possible spot on a multifamily team as an analyst and am wondering if I can get where I want to go. If you have experience exiting an investment sales team, please let me know your path.

My personal experience was going from a top brokerage straight to a $3B AUM shop that I jumped at arguably too soon and didn't really play out my market at the time. I certainly don't regret it since I've been at this place for a long long time, but I had other interest at the time from places that were as big or bigger. I can't say definitively that you can go from JLL/CBRE/CW to Blackstone or Starwood, but it's not impossible. Although, if your goal is to go to a firm that does institutional deals with multiple billions under management, then it's 100% possible. You can always do an intermediary step and work at a shop that's UMM and then lateral to a larger firm once you have the experience on the buy-side if you aren't getting interest from the Blackstone's of the world right away.
