Best Industry to make money? IB vs Programming?
Applying for BSc Mathematics with Statistics for Finance at Imperial College London, Maths and Economics at UCL and MMORSE at Warwick.
What industry is best for someone who only cares about money?
Will I be able to get a job at Silicon Valley with any of these degrees?
the best way to make money is to do something you enjoy, that way you'll excel at it and make a lot of money (at least for the industries you mentioned).
Fuck which bottom tier undergraduate piece of shit who downvoted me for being better than you. Its your own fault for being too stupid to get into a good university
dude chill.
also, those schools aren't even that great anyway.
>imperial isnt great >ucl isnt great What community college did you go to loser?
if you want to know, i downvoted you for being a dumb simpleminded pos. come at me bro
Need help : computer science vs IBD ? (Originally Posted: 12/28/2017)
Hello everyone,
I am currently intern in a M&A boutique in Paris and I can't really figured out if I am happy with that type of job. Actually, I was not interested in finance at all before I get into college, I always wanted to be an entrepreneur (still now) but I was planning to work in IDB for 2 to 3 years before to really start my company. Why ?
1) Learning curve in IDB 2) Be a hard worker and be efficient when I am working 3) Have some credential 4) A capital to start my business
As I said previously, I don't think this type of job really makes me happy, I want to create-value, build things and change the world but I am not ready yet. I have always been attracted by computers and I've the opportunity to participate to the competition (piscine) for 42 school in Paris (coding school). I am also currently preparing my application for MIF. I am still confused if I should or quit everything for tech and become a developer. I think coding is so much valuable in our world.
So, right now I have to chose between 2 options (if we said I was accepted at 42 school)
Plan 1 1.1) 42 School (Y1 and Y2) 1.2) Work as a software developer and try to move to SF (Y3, Y4 and Y5) 1.3) Start my own business (Y6+)
Plan 2 1.1) Master in Finance in Europe (Y1) 1.2) Trying to get a decent job in M&A (Y2, Y3 and Y4) 1.3) Start my own business (Y5+)
As you can see, my long term-goal is the same but the skills I'm going to learn in both situations are going to be totally different. So I am still confused...
Have you ever envisaged to quit banking for tech ?
