EDHEC Maser in Finance Admissions
Wondering what everyone's experiences are with applying to this program. I am trying to see how competitive it is and get an understanding where I stand versus other people. Curious to hear what your GPAs, GMAT, work experience (if any), ETC.
Not sure about this specific program. Maybe @TNA can provide some info about the value of the MSF program.
Anyone?
Overrated master from an university non grande ecole (overrated as well). Not so hard to get into. If your plans are to work in France I would pick other unis
I am from Canada, so that is where I would like to be. The program was recommended by a mentor. They said its one of the best programs for quants.
In French no grande ecole = low wage and disadvantage position with competitors from grande ecole. Actually I'm studying here so I can tell you this for sure. Take a look at the job posting for Paris etc. -> "good candidate graduated from a grande ecole or ESC"
Interesting. Most stuff I read says EDHEC is a grande ecole. So, would you say this is a good program if I wanted to go back to Canada? My goal of the program is to help me get a second chance of employment. I didnt get any internships as an economics undergrad. I have passed cfa level 1. Would you think this masters would help break into finance.
Note sure if you are being retarded on purpose or just uneducated on the topic. EDHEC is a Grande Ecole.
EDHEC is a Grande Ecole from I what I know, and it's usually cited as one the best in regards to Finance. Hell, the FT featured it as the best Finance master in France this year.
You guys take these rankings too seriously. Do you really think that EDHEC is better than MIT for finance? LMAO. No doubt the program is good but placement in France is subpar compared to HEC/ESSEC. And if you know how french grand ecole admission system works it should be obvious why edhec is less respected.
Pre experience MSF, but still..
I don´t know the Financial market program. But I gained my Master´s degree from EDHEC and 1) it is a French Grande Ecole 2)it´s been considered for the last ten years as French top five Business School 3) Entering the program Grande Ecole is actually complicated. In sum, all you say about this school is wrong and it seems you don´t know how the French system works. Btw: ESC only means Ecole Superieure de Commerce, and although some of the best Business school in France have ESC in their name, many very low level school also use it a a brand name.
Any chance you would be willing to provide me with an estimated average for GMAT and GPA?
In a thread started by me, didn't you say that it was a very good masters program and that the that the dean was close friends with Macron (something like that)?
I said it by I was talking about ESSEC, not EDHEC. There's a big gap from these Unis. ESSEC > EDHEC at the very least
Lol a lot of comments from new monkeys that have commented only this topic (pro EDHEC). Sounds interesting
Well the only subject I feel have any right to comment on are the French Grande Ecole since it's the only real finance exp. I've garnered. I'd much rather sit back and listen to other people on other topics. But I can promise you I don't attend EDHEC.
Most MSF programs are dog shit if you only want ib.
Not in Europe
