Georgetown CAS vs CMU Tepper [Undergrad]

Hi all, I am a high school senior who is deciding between these two schools. I have gotten into Georgetown where I would pursue an economics major in the College. After speaking with the regional admissions officer, I've determined it would be fairly easy for me to transfer to the McDonough School of Business if I wanted to. Firstly, is transferring to MSB worth it? Or will I have ample opportunities for consulting/i-banking as an econ major in the college? Regardless, I love Georgetown's location, vibe, and internship opportunities. My other option is CMU Tepper. I do believe the quantitative focus of CMU's business degree will have tremendous value in the future. Additionally, as a Bay Area resident, I do at some point want to return to Silicon Valley, and I think CMU would give me the best opportunities/network there. Overall, my gut says Georgetown but my mind says CMU. Any advice? Thanks

 

CMU and Georgetown are just so different in terms of feel. CMU is dominated by their CS department and the school is considered more technology oriented. Georgetown is more of a traditional liberal arts vibe. You can’t go wrong with either but I think the decision should have more to do with the kind of college experience you’re looking for rather then job outlook.
