Making the switch from BBA Accounting ----> BBA Finance - Worth it?

Hey Everyone!

I am about to enter my junior year and am currently a traditional BBA Accounting major with a finance minor at the University of Texas at Austin. I was recently denied admission to the 5 year integrated masters of professional accounting program at McCombs where a student can get a BBA and MPA degree within 5 years joint. I put everything I got into applying to the program and for the longest time I planned my career had I gotten into the program but things ended up going the opposite way. From here a big dilemma as far as my major goes has risen in regards to pursuing a BBA in Accounting of Finance.

As far as my plan went I wanted to do a few years in Big 4 Auditing/Valuations/Transaction Services and then transition to a F500 role as an analyst and then get an MBA and ultimately transition into consulting. The dilemma here is should I stick with a regular BBA in Accounting or switch to BBA Finance. From what I have heard from other students here at UT is that the BBA accounting degree itself is worthless/pointless to have because the Integrated MPA student will crush the BBA student 10 to 1 in recruiting all the time, but I am still skeptical about that and I am seeking some more confirmation to that statement.

I also researched on the boards is that both degrees will get to my goal but I am wanting to know which degree would give me the maximum career opportunities to eventually reach my goal in case things don't go as planned again.

I found both subject matters extremely interesting but I found accounting more compelling as I took more classes in the subject. But its a little biased considering I have yet to take a Finance class yet according to our whack curriculum, but I have been learning finance on the side. Unfortunately I cannot major in both though! With all this I was wondering is the BBA Accounting worth it and ultimately as far as my goals go which route would be more advisable to take so that I would maximize my career opportunities/prospects:

1) BBA Accounting ---> MPA/MAcc ---> Sit for CPA/Get Certified ----> Finally do Big 4/F500/etc ---> MBA

2) BBA Accounting ---> Big 4/F500 ---> MBA

3) BBA Finance ---> straight to work ---> MBA?
