Masters in Finance Worth it if go to a Semi-Target

A lot of people use MSF to rebrand if they went to a non-target school. If someone went to a target or semi-target, is it better to enroll in a MSF at a top program (think MIT, Vandy) or accept a non ib job like big 4 tas or corporate banking and aim to lateral?
