PLEASE Help! Baruch vs Fordham vs Georgia State (atlanta)
Choosing from 3 programs:
1 MS in States at Baruch,
2 MS in Applied Statistics and Decision Making at Fordham, (a kinda new program http://www.bnet.fordham.edu/academics/ms_programs/ms_statistics_decisio…) and Finally
3 Mathematical risk Management at Georgia State.
The program at GSU is an Accredited University Risk Program of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA). Students graduating with an MS-MRM will be eligible for exemption from Professional Risk Manager Certification (PRM™) Exams I and II,which form a major part of the certification program by the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA).
My background:
I am foreign, so getting a job with just a good GPA wont be easy for me (visa issue).
Seems that Baruch has good alumni base on wall st, but is it just limited among big 4?CPA CFA wise?
I have a Bsc degree in actuarial science, and I do plan to continue doing risk analysis/data analysis stuff.
I know those arent big name schools on wall st, but still hope to get some first hand and fresh advice here. Thanks guys!
Baruch MSF has tons of alums in quant roles on wall street. Not sure about MS in Stats. I'm sure it's good though
Thanks! The ms in states is still under its college of business, would that help? I heard a lot of people saying if your are start up majors such as acct or finance (cpa CFA) its really easy to get a job in nyc. I dont think im gonna take cpa or CFA. And since my school isnt any of those big name MFE schools, is ny truly a gooa place for me? (Plus im foreign... have to worry about sponsorship issue.. etc)
