Took GMAT Diagnostic - Need advice!

Hi everyone, I just took my first GMAT diagnostic/practice test (Exam 1 on the GMATPrep software) and got a 690 (48Q/36V). How accurate is this score when trying to figure out where I stand? I'm signed up for my GMAT towards the end of next month, and given that I primarily focus on this for the next ~45 days, is a 750+ score achievable.
Also, what resources have you all found to be most effective in improving your verbal score. I've seen a lot of recommendations across multiple forum posts but I am not able to figure out one clear winner and don't want to throw money at a bunch of test prep books either.
Any advice will be appreciated!

Those tests are extremely representative of how well you will do on the exam (I don't trust test companies like Manhattan exams as I feel they skew them to make you feel like you are improving etc. and adaptive test is very different).

Depending on how much time you have I definitely do think it's doable. I scored exactly the same as you the first time I took the diagnostic. Was working 80+ hrs a week and bumped it up to a 760 by studying every single day for an hr or two and devoting a full day on the wkd to it. It was a fucking miserable time in my life but got to a 760 after 6 weeks of that. Can give you more details on what exactly I did to prep if you're interested. For verbal the only thing I did was re-read the manhattan gmat guide 3x in its entirety. That book is money and you will uncover new things every time you re-read it. Make sure you are tracking what you are getting wrong with their navigator tool btw.
