USC Marshall school of business vs. Cornell arts and sciences vs. UVA business school vs. Ross vs. UNC business school
Hello
I am looking towards a career in business. I don't necessarily want to go into banking, but I want to attend a school that will give me the most opportunity to be successful: with the schools networking, teachers, and name value. I also want to attend a school that has many other aspects going for it, not strictly pertaining to business.
I have been accepted into Marshall at USC, along with Ross at Michigan. I also have been waitlisted at UNC's and UVA's business school along with Cornell arts and science.
With the mindset I get into all of my waitlisted schools, I want to know which one out of the five suit my interest best. Comparisons would be helpful, along with opinions on the best schools. As of now I am leaning towards USC.
So you're admitted to USC Marshall and Ross, and wait-listed at the other three? Wait-list odds are unfortunately quite low, but you still have good options. In a vacuum, Ross probably has the best placement out of all of them across industries. If you're more interested in ending up in LA, an argument could be made for Marshall, but Ross is a better program overall. UVA could be appealing if you want to stick in the south, but overall I think Ross is your best bet.
Yeah I agree, but I don't think Marshall is too far off and with USC's other appealing aspects like it's size, weather, and look, I think I like it a bit better. Plus it's entrepeneur program and international business program is stronger than Ross's.
i was in the undergrad business program at a mich/uva/cal type of school and while i loved the experience and ended up with the job i wanted, USC and its weather/girls would be tough to turn down, especially if you want to end up in socal post graduation
in terms of nyc placement mich ross=uva mcintire > usc marshall >> unckf
I'd be indifferent to UVA vs UMich. Pretty much same opportunities (I have friends at both). Just choose which campus, culture etc. you like more.
Following these 2 I'd say USC might have a slight edge over UNC. USC however, might limit you to the west coast, while UNC might limit you to the south/east coast.
I would probably go with Ross over USC unless you want to be in LA. Depends on how you feel about the waitlist. They're all options where you can get what you want. The question is you have decide where you want to be first.
