Exchange traded fund question
Hello,
I am new to investing and i have two quick questions relating to ETF's :
- Are there any US exchanged ETF funds that track the Toronto Stock exchange ?
- Why are US exchanged ETF's only tracking American index's (why not other countries index's like canada or europe's for example)
Thank you,
JD
Page 1 of this explains why the TSX makes a generally crappy index. The rest of it is more marketing.

I'm not aware of an ETF that specifically tracks stock on the TSX, but there are plenty of ETFs that offer Canadian exposure: http://etfdb.com/type/region/north-america/canada/
As far as US traded ETFs for foreign markets... there are hundreds and hundreds of them.

All of these ETFs are available that track international equities. A number of them will be specifically tied to indices. Of note are
NKY (Nikkei 225) FEZ (Eurostoxx 50) INDY (Nifty i.e. India) EWH (Hang Seng)
