Is execution trading at an AM or HF boring?

Not trying to troll or sh!t post, kind of want to hear from execution folks at AMs or HFs that primarily do execution.  I guess this primarily is geared toward working on/with vanilla products more than exotics.   Do you guys (gals) get bored doing the job?  Since most trading is / can be automated what do you find yourselves doing most of the time?  Consuming and communicating market sentiment / news to analysts and PMs?

I can see how trading in HY or low liquidity assets can be interesting, more from a behavioral / game theory perspective... but would love to hear how your feel about the job.

Thanks.
