Living in London

I will probably get a ton of critics for this but what do you think about living in Canary Wharf?
Yes I am aware it's not the best place for nightlife, restaurants and shopping, however you can get pretty good deals for high floors brand new flats/penthouses and you are 10min away from the city... any thoughts?

How old are you and what do you do? While it is a bit of a depressing place to live (ok, it's pretty depressing), a pretty good case can be made that for say an IBD analyst or probably an associate that is working all the time and is probably going out 1,2 nights a week, the really short commute does outweigh the benefits of living in a more fun neighborhood. If you live in West London, a cab ride at 2am is still 35-45 min depending on exactly where you live. That cuts significantly into your sleep time and if you don't have enough, you'll soon regret. Lots of friends of mine ended up moving to get closer to work because of this.

FYI, I wrote this assuming you work in Canary Wharf. If not, I just cannot see any reason why you'd want to live there.
