Where from here?

Graduated with a Bcom/Finance from a good school here is Australia in '11, and have some reporting analyst experience at a Big 4 between '11-'12. Have been working on my own fintech startup since '13 after dropping out of a Master of CS program in mid '13. The startup hasn't gained enough ground, so I need to return to stable work and build a career until I can have another shot.

I'm a bit indecisive on what do next. I have always had a huge interest in capital markets/trading since trading my own account during undergrad, but also have a big interest in tech, and want to eventually return to doing my own thing in this space.

Am I right to assume that the natural transition here is to find analyst level work at a market data provider (Bloomberg et al.) or similar?

I'm thinking I should avoid the whole CF/Financial Analyst -> CFA route as I never really had an interest in my accounting subjects during undergrad, so i'm probably setting up for a lot of pain here if i'm not willing to do further post grad study.
