VC Analyst Role at Accelerator after 2+ years in banking?

Interviewing for an Analyst role at a top NY accelerator that also makes early stage investments. I’ve been an analyst at a reputable US bank (but not bb/eb) for over 2 years. Wondering if this is a step down or a good way to break into VC. Would I be better off getting operating experience and then going into an associate role, or will VCs value the analyst experience at an accelerator?
