VC Question (Am I Scrwed?)

I recently started my dream job in Venture Capital, and words can honestly not describe how grateful I feel to be in the position I have.

I have been in the role for almost 2 months, and I’ve gotten very strong feedback on all the work that I’ve done for the team so far. Today, my team was giving an introductory presentation to our portfolio companies, and I was in charge of sharing the slides on Zoom.

Things were going totally fine throughout the presentation, but I didn’t notice that I had a notification on Microsoft Teams. I pulled it up on my screen absentmindedly, and although I knew the audience didn’t see anything since I was just sharing my PowerPoint window, I started to stress out.

I went on my phone and asked my team’s group chat if they could see MS Teams on my screen right now, and my MD just said nope.

I felt relieved for a second, but then started to freak out because what if my MD thought I had sent that from my laptop while I was sharing my screen, and that the portfolio companies had seen our group chat where we were talking about them? I started stressing like crazy, and ended up missing a few next slide cues as a result.

Am I screwed because of this? My contract is until the middle of next year, and I am trying to be flawless so that I can secure my place at this firm after my contract expires. Is there a way to fix this, or something I can say to my MD to make this right?

Thank you!
