When to raise money
Yo - background is tech investing. Never had any exposure to pre-seed though. When do you raise money?
I work now at one of the ultra hot AI companies and found a really attractive place to create a software business. I have validated market opportunity and customer demand firsthand. I'm in the valley and know all the guys I'd raise from so getting the capital isn't an issue. However I'm still a one man band so need to go get talent.
Not sure when I go hit up VCs for starter $$. Do I do this now or once I have a team? If I have a team how long can I realistically expect them to work before I raise?
TY!

If you can raise now ahead of hiring a team, why not do it? I don't think you can expect people to work for free, and your odds of recruiting good talent are much higher once you have funding / credible VC backers.
