2013 Investment Management Asia Analyst Program

I am a senior in target school aiming at becoming a portfolio manager in the future. I am very interested in working in emerging markets, China in particular. I was very excited when I saw the opening in Hong Kong, but I got a little bit confused by the job description...

Is this a middle/back office role? It seems to me that the position focuses more on sales/marketing? Where can this program lead me to?

Has anyone applied to this program? Could someone please help me with my questions? Thank you very much!
