Barcap Nat Res and Power

for the NY office which group would be better? i know nat res is arguably their top group and top on the street, but it seems like nat res does a lot (if not all) execution in houston for energy purposes. maybe power would be better in NY if that is the case

also how are the lev fin and sponsors groups in terms of modeling and exit opportunities? sounds like the best modeling experience is in the industry groups - correct me if i'm wrong

don't be a douche and say "search for other threads" - the point is to facilitate conversation

Natre used to have tons of people from my school – one of them is with MS infrastructure now, also I worked with a guy who was with the group years ago, he said the same thing regarding the power of the group being in Houston – the current group head is from there. Also, I guy I know from lev fin – also an alumnus – left for AEA.

the group head spends the majority of the time in NY, but yes from houston.

i guess my refined question is: would power or nat res be best for the NY office? seems like if you are going to be in nat res, you want to be in houston (close to clients, etc.) but for power you could make the argument NY is the place to be.

hows lev fin?

Told you everything I know bro, nat re seems to have treated everyone I know there well, but most are gone now – I only know one guy from the Houston office and he was there years ago. He actually told me to stay away from natres as a start b/c it is such a specialized skill set. My point about the group head being from Houston is that it is a sign of where the power in the group is, not his actual location now which I understood to be NYC as well. I assume lev fin is solid, but don't have too much insight into the group.

Barcap is #1 group in Energy in Houston, across a pretty wide consensus, not sure about NY though. I know Barcap executes in Houston a lot

joebreezythis site sucks

That is your attempt to elicit a response? – don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Regarding the specialized skill set thing, you should probably ask someone who is working/has working in natre.
