Best NYC deals on cable/internet

I'm moving to the city next week and dealing with setting up all the utilities and stuff. I was wondering if anyone had good advice on the best provider for cable/internet? I know a lot of analysts dont have the time to really take advantage of it, but I'm willing to spend the money so that I can really relax when I am home. Time Warner seems to be a good option, but are there any other cheaper/better providers around?

Time Warner's cable internet

Time Warner's cable internet service seems to run at a pretty average price of $45. Having both internet + TV is $102 a month but seriously, I don't think most people need 350+ channels in the package they offer... My roomie and I will be using TWC for internet and DirecTV (which is offering $30 a month for 150+ channels for the first 12 months, $53 afterwards) for the first year and reevaluate later on.

TWC

I've bad both Time Warner and RCN, and I prefer Time Warner (purely from a quality perspective, don't know about price differences).

FIOS

if you are lucky enough to be able to get it in your building, Verizon FiOS offers a very high quality product (TV & Internet) at a very reasonable price.

Check availability & Pricing for your address here: http://www22.verizon.com/fiosforhome/channels/FiOS/root/address_entry.as...

Unfortunately fiber optic cable has to be installed to the premises and Verizon has not completed that process for much of NYC yet.

I do not have it in NYC, but had it at home.
