Is this considered a top destination after an Investment Banking program?
How does the comp compare to Bstone, Carlyle, KKR, etc?
With regards to prestige, is Cerberus considered equal to those firms?

WOW.
WOW.
whoops
.
Cerberus is definitely up
Cerberus is definitely up there, esp. with its recent acquisitions. You may be able to find some people on Doostang (www.doostang.com) who work for the firm, so PM me if you would like an invite to join the network.
Cheers,

have a doostang membership.
have a doostang membership. no one with cerberus listed as a job has their background listed. do people from top 3,4 Ibanking firms consider Cerberus a top destination?
i should hope so
Cerberus is a top destination.
thanks for the responses
thanks for the responses thus far. does anyone have any info on cerberus' comp versus KKR/Bstone/Carlyle?
A thought for you
I posted on your other thread in the ibanking section about prestige. The quick version: Bstone/Carlyle/KKR/TPG (in alphabetical order only since it's so hard to rank them) are the Harvard/Stanford/Wharton of the PE world. Cerberus is a great firm but not in their league as far as prestige.
That said, if you can get into any of the top PE firms, is comp really that important? They all pay roughly about the same within their peer groups. Bstone and KKR pay the most. Carlyle and TPG are not far behind.
But if you're posting on this forum, I'm assuming you're thinking about an associate or VP position, not higher. At that level, you should be thinking about making a choice based on (1) which platform provides most career progression for someone of your skills and background (and be very honest with yourself as you assess this), (2) which firm is the best culture fit, and (3) which firm has an opening in an area that is most interesting to you.
PE is a long-term game and you will be miserable if you don't like your coworkers, don't fit culturally, or are not doing work you consider rewarding and intellectually stimulating.
Compensation should be last on your list because any top PE firm pays very well and any marginal comp you pass up to join the firm that is the best fit will be paid back many times over in the long run when you progress faster at the firm that is the best fit.
