Hey -
Does anyone know about the investment analyst positions at CIM Group? It is real estate investment management and they invest like a private equity group..
Also, for someone who has an IBD offer, though not at a BB, how would this opportunity compare? Is it real private equity or are you limited to real estate management afterward?
Any thoughts appreciated.

depends
real estate tends to touch upon a variety of fields (gas/oil, metals/mining, REITs which fall into FIG, infrastructure etc.)
if it is a big investment fund then it might be worth it. but if you had an IB offer, say MM like HL, the IB offer would provide better exit ops down the road.

I'm making it up as I go along.
Thanks for the insight. And
Thanks for the insight. And the IBD offer would be a good MM firm like HLHZ.
Despite CIM calling itself private equity, is it unlikely that an analyst from there could go into private equity after two years like one could from banking?
depends
if you were at the MM, you could go into a hedge fund, pe fund focused on growth equity, lbo, variety of investments.
if you were at the CIM, you probably could get into private equity but most likely in a similar field.
essentially, banking would give you a bigger variety.
