City Switch Problems

Hey Monkeys, was wondering if anyone could give me advice or insight on what to expect on the following situation:

Current first year analyst at a BB in Los Angeles (though I've lived my entire life, and went to school, in NY) that is just finishing up training in NY and my first series exam is looming this Friday.

This past Monday, my VP from LA called me to let me know that they need heads in the NY office as they are getting overwhelmed due to high deal flow and low head count (due to mobility and people moving out). After thinking it over, I told her the next day (Tuesday) that I would accept as it's close to my family and all my friends. Particularly, my family though as my mom lost her job and I'd like to help her monetarily. She said that's great to hear, everything will be finalized in the coming days, and not to worry as all will be done on their end. I get an email today from an Associate in NYC saying that I need to come in Friday morning before my exam and meet the 2 teams within the group that I would most likely join. At first thought, I figured it's just a formality so I can meet the team. After further discussion, it seems that there are outside candidates from others firms coming in to interview as well...

My question is, now what? What do I expect for the interview on Friday? Is the Series 79 going to ruin my life? Though I'd rather stay in NY, I also have no time to prep (confident in my technical and behavioral), and my head is really in the gear to just pass the series and not think about anything else and especially not another interview for a group I am already in.. Also things to consider, my 2 roommates who I had planned to live with in LA got approval yesterday, and I had to back out and now they already have a new roommate. I voiced my opinion in a calm tone, saying I had already fully committed but it just seems there was a bit of miscommunication from the 2 offices.

Can anyone offer any advice? Where should my head be at? I would have been fine with this situation had they informed me prior to me "accepting" that I would be put in a pool to interview for the SAME SPOT in a DIFFERENT location, but that's not the case.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Alright, back to series studying!
