I visited the Coller Capital office and met with their team recently, as they have very strong ties with my school. I don't know so much about them but I think I can provide you with one of two insights.

Secondaries seem like a legit business, and from what I understand they are riding a good wave right now and bringing in quite a bit of revenues. Is it sustainable? I am not so sure given the fact that many people wanted / want to exit their position for liquidity reasons due to the adverse economic conditions but it is not clear whether this will last and they can maintain their current pace.

From what they said, I think that comp is in line with the PE business, although what they do is a bit less "fancy". In the UK, they have a strong presence with a good reputation. Probably you can get in any fund if you have good credentials on top of a stint in their team.

Hope this helps

Hey BradZ - I am looking to interview for an Associate role at Coller. Any insight into the interview process? What kind of questions are to be expected in the interview? Thanks!

They are very focused on the fit and career longevity so expect questions on why you want to do secondary investing (vs. direct) and your long-term ambitions and obviously why CC. Also expect questions on the secondary market (current and going forward), why it's interesting to you, pro's to Sec. investing, how you look at an investment as well as key aspects to modelling (read tread on Sec PE Modelling - remember to net your returns for fees).
